Fern Granger (nee Dukes) - March 27, 1947 - April 2, 2018
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Fern Granger unexpectedly at home on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the age of 71. Beloved wife and best friend of Grant Granger, loving mother to Andy Taylor (Rebecca), Patti Willick (Kevin), Denise Staricha (Todd), beloved grandmother (gramma) to 15, and great-grandmother of 7.
Sister to Doreen Koprash (late Joe), Sharon DaPrat (Mike), Bill Dukes (Sherrill), and Darlene Bumbaco. Sister-in-law to Blake (Bunny) Granger, Gloria Granger, Bill Granger, the late Roddy Granger, and families. Predeceased by her parents Lila and Harry Dukes. Fern also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Fern was happiest at home in her kitchen on St. Joe's Island making sure everyone was taken care of. She always had a pot of coffee on for family and friends to drop in. She will be missed by many that knew her.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday April 7th at the Echo Bay Community Hall (257 Church Street) between Noon and 3 pm. Friends and family are welcome to come by and share their memories of Fern. Light refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the charity of your choice or to the MATTHEWS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION would be appreciated.
