Another Angel has gone to heaven. Marlene passed into the arms of the Lord surrounded by her loving family. Wife and soulmate of the late Steve Simon. Adored and devoted mother of Stephen (Ida), Guy (Wendy), Late Brian, Lance (Velma), Mike (Laurie), and Jason (friend Sherri). Cherished grandmother of fifteen and loving great grandmother of nineteen. Sister of the late Wayne Sweezey and late Norma (late Jim Gray). Sister-in-law of John and Pat Simon; late Mary and Joe Venier, and Jean and William Wallace. Marlene touched the lives of many people, and will be forever missed by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins who treated her with kindness and respect. Marlene was an avid reader who immersed herself in her books. She loved the outdoors, her four legged furry friends, curling taking road trips, and enjoying her days at Whiskey Bay with family and friends. Most of all Marlene was very proud of her six boys, their families and their accomplishments. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to S.A.H. doctors, nurses and staff of 300C and 200B for the compassion and attentive care given to our mother. Family and friends are invited to join the Simon family at O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James St.) on Thursday, October 25, 2018 for the visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the service to follow in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sault Area Hospital Cardiac Care Unit, the Humane Society, or the Charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
