We are heartbroken to announce that Dayna Dawn Johnston passed away suddenly at home on January 3rd at the age of 37 years. Loving mother of Alyssa Johnston. Cherished daughter of Christine Zappia and Don Johnston (Sherry). Forever loved by her siblings Alisha (Dan), Erin (Chris), Josh (Emma). Isaac, and nephews and niece, Grayson, Carter, and Emma. Adored granddaughter of Alice Johnston and the late Ronald Johnston, the late Marisa and Joe Brunette. Remembered fondly by her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to thank Dr. Marshall, Kim and the rest of Dayna’s family at Community Mental Health, and John Howard Society for their tireless support. Though her struggle was real, her faith remained unwavering and we have faith that we will see her again.
A private family service will be held. Family and friends are invited to attend Sault Ste. Marie Free Methodist Church (753 McNabb Street, P6B 1Z8) on Wednesday, January 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm for a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, knowing Dayna’s love for her daughter, donations can be made towards a love offering to bless and support Alyssa on Dayna’s behalf.
We love you, Dayna, and we’re proud of you. We know you tried so hard. You fought the fight with every fibre of your being. There is comfort knowing that your fight is now over; no longer fighting, but whole, at peace, and completely set free.
