Surrounded by his loved ones at Mauno Kaihla Koti, on May 11, 2018 at the age of 94. Onni was born on October 23, 1923 in Savonranta, Finland. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Aune. Loving father of Kirsti Watson (late Wayne), Marja-Liisa Voloshin, Pertti (Ginette), Ossi, Lea (Nick) Tassone, Tuula (Dan) Jodoin. Beloved grandfather of Eric (Jennifer), Liisa, Joseph, Nicholas, Risto, Eero, Kaila, Hanna and great grandfather of Cienna. Onni is survived by his sisters, Anni Karvinen and Jenny Patrakka, of Sault Ste. Marie and Kaija Salminen of Finland and also sister in laws, Elli, Sylvi, Aila and Eila and brother in laws, Toimi and Leo all of Finland. Onni was a Knight of the Order of the White Rose of Finland for his service to his home country during the Second World War. The family would like to thank the staff at Kotitalo, Mauno Kaihla Koti and Sault Area Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion shown to their father. A private funeral service will be at O'Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James St, corner of Cathcart and St. James St) on May 16, 2018 at 1 p.m. and will be followed by a luncheon at the Finnish Pentecostal Church on Peoples Road.
