Obituary for Norman John Mackinnon

It is with great sadness and regret that the family announces his passing on October 2, 2018 at the Sault Area Hospital with family and friends at his side. He was a rare and remarkable man, one of great kindness, honor, dignity and integrity, as fine as they come. He was a thoughtful man of few words, but always eloquent and humorous. He led an accomplished life, and was a wonderful mentor, teacher, father and friend. We will deeply miss the wisdom of his ways and words. He left fingerprints on our hearts. He was the beloved father of Ian (Jennifer and daughters Kristen and Erin), Molly (Arthur and children Robert and Morgaine) and Sheila (Wayne and son Brett). He will be deeply missed by his family and also his long time colleague and friend Barbara White, and family, as well as by his caregiver and dear friend Sharon Kennedy. We are grateful to all the wonderful caregivers who came to know and appreciate him with great affection. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when all the family can be present. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Group Health Centre Child and Youth Mental Health, Sault Area Hospital Mental Health and Addiction Fund or the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society.
